Jake Ediger - Topeka Senior Picture Preview

There are some things that just make you feel...well, old.  This is one of those things for me.  Jake grew up right up the street from me, so it's a little hard to believe that the little boy who used to run around my house with my younger brother is already a senior in high school.  None the less, Jake is a senior this year and recently I photographed him for his senior pictures.  He was a great sport, and we had a lot of fun running around Topeka.  Enjoy your preview!

Andrea Nowak - McPherson Senior Pictures

Andrea was the winner of the Senior Portrait Scholarship, and received a free sitting fee as a result of her very funny and witty entry about why she deserved the scholarship.  She took a very creative route and gave me a top 10 of why she should win.  Some of my favorites include:
  • #9-The only way my hair will look halfway decent is if my sister does it, and she lives in Lawrence. That would be convenient.
  • #6-I have creeped on your Facebook fan page so many times, that whenever I type "A" in the search, your website is the first to come up.
  • #1-My mom will be disappointed in me if I'm not chosen.
I'm not sure how I could turn that down, along with the other funny reasons.  Andrea was an excellent subject, and we had a great time exploring Topeka.  She came all the way from McPherson, so it was a fun afternoon and I hope you enjoy your preview!

Grace Katherine - Prairie Village Newborn Preview

The best time to do a newborn session is right after the baby is born. I don't mean a few weeks, I mean right after...as in a few days. Obviously this is not always possible for everyone, but when it is the sessions are so fun...brand new newborns are just so bendy and squishy and delightful :) I was very lucky that little Grace Katherine's mom and dad were able to schedule Grace's session when she was just 3 days old. Grace was just absolutely wonderful, as were her sweet parents and precious 2 1/2 year old brother, Luke. I am so excited to see this sweet little girl grow up over her first year. Enjoy your preview!

I was lucky enough to get a few minutes with big brother Luke before we started with Grace.

This crib has a great story behind it. Not only did Luke get to use it when he was a baby, but so did their mom. I love being able to include items like this in pictures, it always adds a little extra sentiment.

Luke was so sweet to Grace. At one point he told his mom that Grace was the cutest baby ever.

Her absolutely adorable nursery. So sweet and girly.

Kiara - 4 Month Preview (Topeka)

You might remember sweet Kiara from her newborn session 4 months ago...

Well, she just turned 4 months old and is even more adorable. She has the sweetest personality, and was so easy to work with (just like when she was a newborn!) Enjoy your preview!

Look at those thighs!

She just loved when her momma kissed her.

About halfway through the session Kiara began to get a little shy...she would do this absolutely adorable thing where she would turn and look at me for a little bit, smile and immediately turn towards her mom's chest and act bashful. She would peek up at me every now and then and eventually get the courage to look up again, and then she would turn back and become bashful. It was SO cute.

Sweet bashful girl :)

Another great story...so, while we were outside, I asked if she would want to try standing on the grass (she loved standing inside, so I figured it couldn't hurt). Her mom let me know she had never been in grass before, and her first reaction to it was hilarious. She pick her little feet right up and did not like it. She kept lightly brushing the surface of the grass with her foot testing it, and eventually decided she just didn't really like it at all. Alas, it was adorable and so funny to see her experience it for the first time.
