Victoria & Justin - A Country Wedding (full preview)

When I first began driving to the address Victoria provided me I had no idea what to expect. I had never been to McLouth, Kansas before, but I was excited to photograph something a little different. I drove through gravel roads and out to what seemed like the middle of nowhere, and couldn't have been more excited by what I saw. Green everywhere, the sky was bright blue with perfectly placed clouds, and while it was very very hot, the scenery made it all worth it. Even better, the bride and groom were an absolute joy to work with. They were both so laid back, kind and gracious. It was a very enjoyable evening, and it was a pleasure to work with the newly married couple! Enjoy your preview!

Love her dress. Non-traditional, but so perfect for the day...totally fit the mood of the wedding, and check out the beautiful detail.

We had a non-compliant ring bearer, and a little flower girl who relentlessly tried to get him to cooperate. Needless to say, they were adorable.

The bride was escorted by her brother, doesn't she just look radiant?

The guests tossed lavender as the bride and groom exited the barn, so the whole place smelled absolutely heavenly for the remainder of the evening. Such a great idea!

They made this great sign for the day...love it!

There is a great story behind this barn (that I am probably going to get wrong, but I will try none the less). Growing up, Justin raised cattle in this very barn that he got married in. Over the past months he has worked hard renovating the barn, pouring a concrete floor, installing beautiful light fixtures, and overall turning it into a really wonderful space. They did such an awesome job, and it really provided a great place for the wedding and part of the reception. If you look above at some of the previous pictures, you can see what the altar area looked like, with the open space looking out over rolling hills and lots of beautiful scenery. All of it was very pretty. I told the couple that they could probably start renting out the space to other couples...I know I would love to photograph another wedding there! :)
